Mix 90% passion with 10% magic — and the result is Läderach Chocolatier Suisse. At least that’s how the bean-to-bar company describes the flavors that make mouths water across the globe.
Follow the perfume of chocolate wafting through Prudential Center, and you’ll soon find yourself surrounded by a sea of perfectly crafted pralines and slabs of chocolate bark sold by the pound. Läderach may be a Pru newcomer, but the store has already built a Boston following.
Writes Cindy, a recent visitor, on Google, “I’m a real chocoholic! And without a shadow of a doubt this is the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted!”
Another exclaims, “Chocolate made in heaven!”
Emily Chan of @bostonfoodgram shared her Läderach experience in an Instagram reel:

Well, not quite. But it’s as close to heaven as it gets.
Läderach connects the rainforests to the Swiss Alps to create the rave-worthy tastes. In the protective shade of banana trees and cedars in northern Costa Rica, Trinitario cocoa trees grow under the close supervision of farmers like Edwin Sibaya. He belongs to the select group of cocoa growers and their families across Trinidad, Ecuador, Brazil, Madagascar, and Ghana who share the Läderach passion for making some of the world’s best chocolate.
Produced in Switzerland, the chocolate capital of the world, the artisanal chocolates are then delivered to Läderach stores in 47 nations.
“We lived in Switzerland for a few years, and Läderach was one of my favorite stores,” says Faezeh, a Google critic, who popped in last week. “I am so glad they are now in Prudential Center!”
Läderach owes its success to founder Rudolf Läderach, Jr. , who in 1970 invented a revolutionary, and now patented, process to manufacture thin-walled hollow balls for truffles. In 2018, his grandson, Elias Läderach, cemented the family’s stellar reputation for chocolate-making when he beat 19 international competitors at the World Chocolate Masters in Paris.
Now, you can taste it all for yourself, including Elias’s award-winning praline, the Chocolate Bonbon. Located three stores down from the Pru’s Center Court (Kate Spade is a next-door neighbor), Läderach doesn’t need to beg for a visit; the subtle aromas work like a magnet.
What will become your must-have fix?
Faezeh’s (the Google critic) vote is on the dark chocolate FrischSchoggi embedded with strawberries. The FrischSchoggi comes in nearly 25 varieties and lets you break off your desired piece from a fresh-chocolate platter.
And how about a serving of “popcorn-meets-chocolate” for your next movie? Caramelized by hand with real Swiss sugar and sprinkled with the finest Läderach chocolate, it takes snacking to a new, luxurious level.
Finish off with your own selection of Tartufi, a combination of finely ground nuts and handcrafted Swiss chocolate, inspired by the confection of Northern Italian truffles.
