Ah, nothing pairs as beautifully with spring as the perfectly prepared cocktail. At Prudential Center, you find that ideal combination, over and over again. Whether you raise a glass on Earls’ rooftop patio or go for al fresco sipping at Wagamama, here are 10 cocktails to try this spring at The Pru’s restaurants.
A cocktail made with “Mandarin Blossom” vodka? Bring it to the outdoor deck, soak in the bright sun, and call it spring. The drink in question is called Citrus Crush and belongs on the list of “unique+spirited cocktails” at California Pizza Kitchen. Paired with muddled mint, fresh orange, and lemon, it includes all the ingredients that a 60+ degree day calls for.
They say spring is the season of hope. Well, we’d like to amend that statement to say, spring is the season of The Hope Diamond at Eddie V’s. The premier seafood restaurant has divided its signature drink list (called Cocktails With Attitude) into three categories: Idealism, Fortitude, and Decadence. Shining above them all, however, is the interactive Hope Diamond. Watch the mixture of Grey Goose vodka, grapefruit liqueur, and Butterfly Pea flower tea turn the color of spring lilacs as your server pours it over an extra-large diamond ice cube.
Sunny yellow like blooming daffodils. Refreshing like a breeze in April. Time has come to order The Ultimate Margarita at The Cheesecake Factory. Starring Altos Plata Tequila with Cointreau and Grand Marnier shaken with fresh lime and Agave nectar, this salt-rimmed classic was made to greet rising temperatures.
Is it summer yet? For those who can’t wait, Kabira Bay lets us fast-forward to balmier days. This Asian-inspired cocktail from Wagamama, a haven for sizzling noodles and hearty ramen, comes complete with a paper parasol. But the main act is, of course, what’s inside the glass: Greenhook Gin, orange and plum soju, cherry liqueur, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, angostura bitters, and mint. Let’s make a toast in the courtyard patio.
Amid raw juice and tonics, smoothies and coffee, you’ll find The Sun is Shining. This vodka-based cocktail at the newly opened Pressed Café deserves an order for the name alone. Featuring St. George’s Citrus Vodka, real guava, orange juice, soda water, freshly juiced ginger, lemon, and apple, it includes just the right mix of tart and sweet to awaken your palate. Bring on the sunshine.
Cocktail-sipping meets rooftop-lounging. There’s hardly a better way to relish the arrival of spring than on the expansive rooftop patio at Earls Kitchen & Bar. With an on-site Cocktail Lab and a rotating guest list of the city’s foremost bartenders, Earls knows how it’s done. If you’re looking for something breezy, go for an Aperol Spritz (Aperol, Bollicini prosecco, soda) from the Better For Your Booze menu. Who said you have to choose just one, anyway?
Hello, outdoor bar and all-things-Mediterranean fare from star chef Jody Adams. Porto has what it takes to usher in that jubilant spring sensation. For this al fresco outing, how about an Elder Peartini (Ketel One Vodka, pear purée, lemon, St. Elder Liquor, tonic). Enjoy your drink, clear skies, mild temps — and the skyline view.
It’s always the season for a classic! Del Frisco’s is the ultimate upscale steakhouse, where hand-cut steaks and expertly crafted cocktails shine in an elevated atmosphere. We’re springing (????) for one of the best Espresso Martinis in the city. Smooth and creamy, topped with espresso beans, this classic cocktail pairs well with any course — from apps to dessert.
When you raise a glass of a refreshing cooler in the sun-soaked Terra dining room, you know spring has sprung. This space is unlike anything in the city: an oasis of suspended plants, vines, and earthy decor underneath soaring glass ceilings. Located on the third floor of Eataly Boston, Terra centers around a wood-burning Italian grill that lets simple flavors shine. Pair with a Willowdale, featuring Privateer Silver Rum, Rhum JM Gold, bitters, vermouth, and grilled lemon and lime. Saluti!
If sipping prosecco in Venice has to wait, aim for the next best thing: a Porta Venezia at La Pizza & La Pasta at Eataly Boston. This cocktail includes classic ingredients like Four Roses Bourbon, Old Overholt Rye Whiskey, and Alessio. Enjoy with your selection from the dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers) for as close to an authentic Italian experience as it gets in Back Bay.
Now, there’s only one thing left to say — cheers to spring!
