How can you take a literal step toward sustainability during Earth Month? Walk into Prudential Center to get started. At The Pru, we offer plenty of ways to practice sustainability or live an environmentally friendly life all year long.
How do you make a green fashion statement? Slip on a piece of apparel from the just-opened OAK Refined by OAK + FORT. The OAK Refined Pop Up at The Pru exclusively carries the brand’s environmentally conscious collection. In an industry marked by heavy water consumption and carbon emissions, OAK Refined aims to create a better and brighter future for our planet by equipping people with sustainable fashion.
Take the Fitted Tank Romper, for example. This effortless staple is made with sustainability harvested cotton and produced to have a positive impact on the environment. In fact, all fibers and fabrics at Oak Refined are either organic, recycled, or sustainably sourced in collaboration with a range of equally minded partners.
How do you drive without using a drop of gasoline? Head to the Tesla showroom to join the electric car revolution. As 2022 is gearing up to become another breakout year for Tesla and the EV industry, the brainchild of Elon Musk is on track to fulfill its mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. (No wonder he broke out the dance moves at the recent Gigafactory opening in Germany!)
Making headlines this year is, of course, the 2022 Tesla Model Y, which features an impressive 330-mile driving range, standard autopilot, and the hallmark quick acceleration. Schedule a test drive to experience it for yourself.
Can you really eat fast food that’s healthy, sustainable, and insanely tasty? Place an order at Clover Food Lab, and the answer is immediately clear. Not only will you receive your meal in minutes, the ingredients are plant-based, locally sourced, and intensely soul-pleasing.
Founded by MIT grad Ayr Muir in 2008, Clover is built on a pioneering concept — to address global warming by building a better food future. As the fanbase has grown so has the number of venues, from a food truck (another Boston first) to more than 13 restaurants in greater Boston.
The most recent addition is, indeed, at The Pru. Now, you can refuel with dishes like Impossible Meatball (“100 Italians agree: these meatballs may be better than Nonna’s”) and the Classic Breakfast Sandwich (“a Boston icon”). The latter is made with super fresh eggs from Maine Family Farm, organic tomatoes from Longwind Farm in Vermont, and kosher Grafton Cheddar, all served on homemade pita, baked with New England grown and milled grains.
Do you want to support a business that aims to become carbon neutral by 2027? Dive into the menu at sweetgreen. This champion of seasonal, healthy food launched a six-year plan of attack to reduce its carbon by 50% and to meaningfully offset where reduction isn’t yet possible.
sweetgreen’s plant-heavy menu already means everything you order is around 30% less carbon intensive than your average American meal. So, whether you’re going for a warm Schroomani bowl or a Super Green Goddess salad, you play a part in sweetgreen’s mission to empower customers and partners to be a positive force on the food system.
Can you imagine a world without bees? No, let’s not even finish that thought. The Pru is taking an active stand for the wellbeing of bees by welcoming them to our office towers.
We invited the Best Bees Company to install and maintain honeybee hives on the Prudential Center rooftop. While pesticides, habitat loss, and pathogens threaten these vital pollinators, the Best Bees Company strives to make a tangible, positive impact on the environment, one beehive at a time. Honey, anyone?
How can you make a direct impact? Come to The Pru’s 15th Annual Volunteer Expo on Wednesday, April 27, 4-6 p.m. Among a total of 45 non-profit organizations, a handful have made our global or local environment the heart of their mission.
The Foundation for a Green Future works to bring nature into our urban spaces and lives, promoting sustainable business practices, recycling, composting, and water solutions. Another group, Friends of the Boston Harborwalk, is always looking for volunteers to lead guided tours, create engaging signage, and maintain the beauty of the 43-mile long stretch.
Happy Earth Month — and welcome to The Pru!
