A favorite tradition year after year, 31 Nights of Light celebrates 28 local non-profits and 3 holidays by the time New Year’s Eve arrives.
Each night during the month of December, the top of Prudential Tower is lit a different color in support of that night’s partner. Inside the Center, organizations can opt to flip our large symbolic switch, providing additional awareness and a chance to celebrate their hard work.

For 20+ years, Room to Grow’s three-year program has provided critical support to families raising babies born into low-income circumstances. The organization provides parents and caregivers with essential baby and toddler items, strategies and support to promote their children’s development, and connections to community resources that can meaningfully expand their support network.
Canine Companions is leading the service dog industry to provide service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings. The Bay State Chapter encompasses puppy raisers, graduates and volunteers in the Massachusetts and New England area.
The goal of Partner’s For Youth with Disabilities is to create a world where young people with disabilities will be able to live with dignity and pride in who they are, and to lead self-determined lives filled with purpose. To make this happen, PYD builds the skills and abilities of young people with disabilities, and increases the inclusivity of workplaces, organizations, and communities.
Reid Landry Garrant was a 22-year-old young man who graduated from Pentucket Regional High School in 2014. On June 1st 2018, Reid passed away from Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML/APL), a cancer of the white blood cells. Reid’s Foundation was born out of his family wanting to honor his name and give back to other families having to deal with Leukemia.
Founded in 2011 by former professional basketball player Chris Herren, the Herren Project is a New England-based national nonprofit organization that provides free resources and support for the treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder. Prevention and wellness initiatives provide schools and communities resources to prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
Celebrating its 20th year of impact, the Boston Bruins Foundation collaborates with charitable organizations that demonstrate a commitment to health and wellness, education and athletics. The Foundation strongly believes that advocating for children and families across these areas will create a strong support system that will ultimately lead to the betterment of our community.
The mission of Big Sister Association of Greater Boston is to ignite girls’ passion and power to succeed through positive mentoring relationships with women and enrichment programs that support girls’ healthy development to become a confident, competent and caring adult. Big Sister Boston invests in 2,500 girls and women throughout Greater Boston annually.
Food Rescue US is dedicated to eliminating hunger and food waste – keeping food out of landfills and reducing greenhouse gasses. Food Rescue US engages volunteers and food donors through its proprietary web-based app to directly transfer nutritious excess food to social service agencies serving the food insecure.
The mission of the Ron Burton Training Village is to train youth to achieve their purpose – despite life’s challenges – through education, leadership, physical wellness, social advancement, and spiritual growth. About 10,000 young people, most who are on a full or partial scholarship, have participated in RBTV Programs since 1985.
The National Alopecia Areata Foundation supports research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for alopecia areata, supports those with the disease, and educates the public about alopecia areata.
The Hyde Square Task Force amplifies the power, creativity, and voices of youth, connecting them to Afro-Latin culture and heritage so they can create a diverse, vibrant Latin Quarter and build a just, equitable Boston. HSTF engages close to 500 youth ages 6–25 in college and career preparation.
Perkins School for the Blind is the worldwide leader in educational services for children and young adults who have multiple disabilities and visual impairments. An international NGO, Perkins School for the Blind is infinitely innovating to solve longstanding and emerging problems facing communities, students, and families.
The Ellie Fund provides essential support services for breast cancer patients residing in and/or receiving treatment in Massachusetts to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing. Through its support program, everything from transportation to medical appointments, to light housekeeping and nutritional and grocery assistance, to childcare reimbursement, is free of charge to relieve a patient’s burden while in treatment.
For over 50 years, Heading Home has been one of the Commonwealth’s leading providers of emergency shelter, transitional, and permanent housing for children and adults currently or formerly experiencing homelessness. The non-profit’s housing-plus-services approach sets clients on a pathway to self-sufficiency.
One Mission provides programs and services that reduce stress, restore joy, and give children and their loved ones the support they need to get through the daily challenges of cancer treatment. Whether it’s providing arts and crafts, putting on birthday parties and holiday celebrations, or paying for expensive hospital parking, One Mission makes life brighter for kids fighting cancer from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Project Citizenship is a nonprofit agency that provides free, high-quality legal services to immigrants all over Massachusetts and New England states. Delivered by over 1,000 volunteers and pro-bono attorneys, Project Citizenship offers free workshops, eligibility screening, application assistance, legal referrals, and all materials needed to apply for U.S. citizenship.
Soccer Unity Project reimagines the power of soccer to build community, connect people from diverse backgrounds, and promote equity in youth play. All programs are free, with no required fees. Soccer Unity Project provides all uniforms, equipment and coach training.
Boston Harbor Now is working to re-establish Boston as one of the world’s truly great coastal cities. Boston Harbor Now builds on sixty years of collective work advocating for the Boston Harbor cleanup, creating and co-managing the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park, and establishing the Boston Harborwalk.

WMN blends music creation, technology training, community building, and career development to instill the mindset and abilities needed for success in the music industry and beyond.
Metro Housing|Boston mobilizes wide-ranging resources to provide innovative and personalized services that lead families and individuals to housing stability, economic security, and an improved quality of life. Metro Housing|Boston empowers 25,000 households a year, along with property owners, in 30 communities throughout Greater Boston to move along the continuum from homelessness to housing stability.
Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, providing safety, resources, advocacy and information since 1977. The organization also operates SafeLink (the statewide domestic violence hotline), and promotes domestic and dating violence prevention through awareness and education.
Easterseals Massachusetts provides services to ensure children and adults with disabilities have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play. With an individualized approach to all services, the non-profit focuses on the power of unlocking every person’s full potential.
National Brain Tumor Society unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites the brain tumor community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and caregivers. Building on over 30 years of experience, NBTS is the largest patient advocacy organization in the United States committed to curing brain tumors and improving the lives of patients and families.
Rogerson Communities has been providing housing and health care for elders and low-income individuals and families since 1860. Rogerson Communities serves over 2,000 Greater Boston families through 30 facilities and programs, providing greater independence and longevity to a diversity of individuals.
Since 1878, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children has been on the forefront of innovative services and passionate advocacy to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and families.
Founded in 2008, Catching Joy is a youth-led 501c3 nonprofit that promotes volunteerism and acts of kindness beginning with kids, teens, and families. Catching Joy organizes hands-on service projects to share the responsibility and joy of giving.
Winter Walk is an organization raising awareness and funds towards an end to homelessness and the stigma that surrounds it. It centers on an annual two-mile walk around the streets of the city in February, providing a chance to link arms with those who experience homelessness – to listen humbly to their stories, show them that we care about their lives, and affirm our commitment to do all it takes to ease struggles.
Camp Harbor View works with more than 1,000 young Bostonians and their families each year to offer, all at no cost to families: a one-of-a-kind summer camp for students in grades 6-8, year-round leadership development for students in grades 9-12, and comprehensive family services (including college and career planning, scholarships, clinical support, and resource coordination). Camp Harbor View also builds targeted pilot programs – such as guaranteed income and holiday assistance – that aim to address the acute needs of families across the city of Boston.
