The weather is warmer, the sun is shining, and the flowers are blooming. This means one thing in Boston… patio season is back! Lucky for us, some of Back Bay’s favorite patios can be found right here at Prudential Center.
Check out a few suggestions for the various outdoor dining options from the Center’s 20+ eateries. From prime people watching while dining along Boylston Street to grabbing a drink 51 stories up and other locations in between, the Center offers a variety of patio options to meet every price point and dining experience you’re looking for this spring and summer!
Porto, Boston’s favorite high-energy Mediterranean seafood restaurant, welcomes back the popular The Amalfi Patio! Bigger and even better, the second season of this 360º al fresco experience transports you to the Italian Coast while dining under a lush canopy of greenery and lemons along with the addition of new stunning visual elements that will make you feel transported to a Mediterranean locale. Reservations are highly encouraged!
Experience la dolce vita on the patio and enjoy Porto’s modern Mediterranean take on handmade pasta and Coastal Italian inspired dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients in the heart of Back Bay. Grab a seat at the bar to cool down with a refreshing craft cocktail (including zero proof offerings!) or a glass or wine.
We might be a little biased, but Boylston Street’s favorite – dare we say iconic – patio returns for another summer in the city. Situated within the Center’s Boylston Plaza and just outside the Italian market’s street side entrance, Il Patio di Eataly is one of our favorite dining options to cheers to life with a spritz in hand and good company to enjoy it with. Pull up a seat to feast on everything from Neapolitan-style pizzas and classic pasta dishes, to seasonal salads and aperitivo plates.
Reservations are also highly encouraged! What better way to catch up with friends after a work day or to kick-off the weekend on a Summer Friday (officially or unofficially, we won’t tell 😉)
Across the Boylston Plaza, the patio at Del Frisco’s is an airy upgrade to your work week. The ultra-premium steak house provides a distinguished dining experience with its vast selection of USDA Prime wet and dry-aged steaks (including the 32 ounce Bone-in Wagyu Long Bone Ribeye) and modern takes on fresh seafood. The Steakhouse Salad and Lobster Roll on a buttered brioche bun will make you want to come back day-after-day for lunch; the “Business Lunch” (choice of starter & entrée) is aptly named when needing a spot to help close that business deal.
Head up to View Boston for New England’s highest outdoor roof deck, Stratus. The 360-degree roof deck takes after-work drinks and weekend plans to new heights as you mix & mingle with friends, family, co-workers while indulging in the view with a cocktail in hand. Bar bites are also available to complement your favorite seasonal cocktail of choice.
Stratus is located in View Boston on the 51st floor of Prudential Tower. Tickets to View Boston to access Stratus can be purchased online or at the ticket kiosk at the entrance of View Boston. Stratus is open Monday to Sunday from 12PM to 10PM. View Boston is open daily at 10AM.
Need a quick break in the sun? Take advantage of the Center’s South Garden for an outdoor picnic, snack break, or coffee date. Plenty of tables and lawn to go around!
For coffee, Blue Bottle and Dunkin’ are conveniently located near two of the Garden’s entrances. When friends and family are craving different items, Sweetgreen and Shake Shack are steps from the Garden entrance closest to Dunkin’). Eataly’s Market and various quick service counters, Cava, and Anna’s Taqueria are a few of the Center’s eateries to order to-go and enjoy in the Garden. We also love to cool down underneath the Garden’s trees with a scoop from Ben & Jerry’s or Cold Stone Creamery.
