A new season, a new set of featured budding artists from Artists For Humanity! Meet the three artists who brighten up the Center even more this July, August, and September.
Prudential Center’s relationship with AFH provides a physical space for these artists to exhibit their work with the greater Boston community. It also provides a platform that encourages artistic expression, creativity, and personal growth.
Check out our featured artists during a day of shopping, dining, or just to celebrate local artists!
We featured two of Auddi’s paintings around Prudential Center in July.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to showcase my photography at such a prominent venue as Prudential Center. Photography has been my passion and refuge, allowing me to capture fleeting moments and express myself creatively. These two particular photos hold great significance for me, embodying moments of both chaos and beauty. Through this exhibition, I hope to convey my gratitude for the support and encouragement I’ve received thus far on my artistic journey.
Musauddiq “Auddi” Abdullah, an 18-year-old artist from Boston, has explored various art forms including Fashion Styling, Runway Modeling, Photography, and more recently, Fashion Designing. Currently working at Artists For Humanity in a Photography Studio, Auddi dedicates weekly sessions to honing his artistic skills. Dabbling in both Film Photography and Digital Photography, over the years he’s discovered his love for the arts with the help of many mentors and friends. Learning photography has helped him find his style and translate his vision through his lens for the world to see.
Q: What does your perfect day in Boston look like?
A sunny day where I could travel on my skateboard, take many photos, and buy or make clothing would be perfect for me.
Q: What is your favorite spot to eat in the city?
My favorite spot to eat in the city is Dirty Water Dough on Newbury St.
We featured two of Marina’s paintings around Prudential Center in August.

My artistic style leans largely towards abstraction, with a strong emphasis on mark-making and texture. I typically use acrylic paint on wood or canvas, and I enjoy using palette knives, sponges, cards, and traditional paint brushes when painting. Inspiration for my work comes from my surroundings. Listening to music has also influenced my creative process. Painting has evolved into a therapeutic practice for me, whether it be processing emotions or making space for moments of reflection. It serves as a form of visual journaling, allowing me to express myself and my experiences on the canvas.
Marina Brhane is a multimedia artist born in Khartoum, Sudan. She immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 10. In the summer of 2018, she began working at AFH, where she had the opportunity to paint. Her time at AFH served as a catalyst for her artistic development, providing valuable opportunities to refine her skills and express herself freely.
Q: What is your favorite spot in Boston to relax/have fun/explore?
One of my favorite spots in Boston to relax is Jamaica Pond – it’s a great place for a leisurely walk or a picnic.
Q: What is your favorite spot to eat in the city?
My favorite spot to eat in the city is Comfort Kitchen in Dorchester. It has a cozy atmosphere and delicious food!
We are featuring two of Maya’s paintings around Prudential Center through the end of September.
“Stop And Smell |
The Flowers” Series |
Throughout my childhood, my mom adorned me in the elegant folds of the traditional Chinese “qipao” during spring months. It became a cherished tradition to pose among the flowers at the Boston Public Garden or the Prudential Center, capturing moments in photographs to share with relatives in China. These images inspired my artwork, reflecting a timeline of my childhood years spent modeling in front of various locations with bright, floral backgrounds. I remain forever grateful to the city that taught me to see the world anew and to never stop searching for flowers amidst the concrete jungle.
Maya Chin, a Chinese American who was born and raised in Boston, finds comfort in the vibrant energy of her city’s streets, particularly reveling in the beauty of the flowers in her community. Her upbringing amidst the urban landscape has deeply influenced her artistic vision, with her artwork often reflecting the colors and rhythms of the city she calls home. Through her paintings, Maya captures the essence of Boston’s urban beauty, inviting viewers to see the world through her eyes and experience the magic of everyday moments.
Q: What does your perfect day in Boston look like?
My perfect day in Boston consists of a run by the Charles River, followed by a lengthy walk through the Back Bay area. If I time my run correctly, I will end on the Cambridge bridge by sunset. It’s not a complete run if you didn’t take a picture of the sunset overlooking the Citgo sign!
Q: What is your favorite spot to eat in the city? What do you think is an under-appreciated spot in Boston that you wish more people knew about?
I love exploring new restaurants in the city, but nothing beats authentic Chinese food from Jade Garden right in the heart of Chinatown. The Splash Fountain and Reflecting Pool at the Christian Science Plaza is definitely one of the most underappreciated spots in Boston. It’s the perfect scene on a warm summer evening to walk through or to have a picnic all while in the company of friends and family.
Artists For Humanity (AFH) provides under-resourced teens the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. AFH is built on the philosophy that engagement in the creative process is a powerful force for social change, and that creative entrepreneurship is a productive and life-changing opportunity for young people. Bridging economic, racial and social divisions, AFH enriches urban communities by introducing young people’s creativity to the business community.
