Fall in love with October’s and November’s featured artists from Artists For Humanity! Admire the original creative works during a day of shopping, dining, or just to celebrate local artists.
Prudential Center’s relationship with AFH provides a physical space for these artists to exhibit their work with the greater Boston community. It also provides a platform that encourages artistic expression, creativity, and personal growth.

Art has been a journey that humbles me. It’s taught me to find beauty in imperfection, to welcome the unknown, and to feel joy in creating. I look forward to making pieces that are unique and special to me; and can be special to others, regardless if they interpret it differently.
Tania Palencia has been immersed in the dynamic cultural tapestry of New England and developed a deep appreciation for the arts and a keen sense of creativity from her time at Artists for Humanity. She continues to evolve as an artist while attending Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She looks forward to sharing her vision with the world and contributing to the vibrant artistic community of Boston and beyond.
Q: What does your perfect day in Boston look like?
Hanging around Downtown and Chinatown – trying new places to eat, listening to music, getting boba, just hanging around Park Street, and going to see a movie with friends.
Q: What is your favorite retail store to shop in?
I love anything anime and manga related, so Newbury Comics is my go-to store whenever I want to do some retail therapy.
We featured two of Katherine’s photos around Prudential Center in November.

Through my photos, I aim to show people that our world is full of amazing things, whether natural or man-made. I love adding a touch of my colorful personality to my photos by playing with double exposures, saturation, and other configurations that make my art stand out.
Katherine Rivera’s goal as a photographer is to transmit awareness of the world’s beauty. Through her artwork, Katherine wishes to connect people to nature and teach them to appreciate what they would otherwise ignore. Katherine continues to expand her imagination, capturing, and creating meaningful artwork as she explores nature.
Q: What is your favorite spot in Boston to relax/have fun/explore?
My favorite spot in Boston to relax and have fun is definitely the Public Garden. The Public Garden is always so beautiful no matter what season. It’s such a beautiful place to go and relax, have time for yourself, or to spend quality time with your close ones. I enjoy going more in spring, as all the trees and flowers are starting to bloom and give the garden a whole different look that never disappoints me.
Q: What does your perfect day in Boston look like?
A perfect day in Boston for me is waking up to the birds singing and the sun’s bright light. The feeling of waking up to a warm spring morning fills me with happiness and joy. Being relaxed, getting my stuff done, and having a good playlist throughout the day while spending quality time with people I adore is the best feeling for me. The sunset at the end of the day, with its beautiful and stunning colors, is the perfect way to end a perfect day.
Artists For Humanity (AFH) provides under-resourced teens the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. AFH is built on the philosophy that engagement in the creative process is a powerful force for social change, and that creative entrepreneurship is a productive and life-changing opportunity for young people. Bridging economic, racial and social divisions, AFH enriches urban communities by introducing young people’s creativity to the business community.
