It’s Boston Marathon season here in Back Bay! Every year over 500,000 runners and spectators descend onto the Greater Boston area for the world’s oldest annual marathon. So what better way to celebrate one of the city’s most iconic yearly events than to immerse yourself in all things Boston and New England?
Lucky for all, Prudential Center is just steps from the finish line on Boylston Street and features a variety of shops and eateries that can help get you into the Boston Marathon spirit. Keep reading for some of the city’s best activities, eats, and stores that scream Boston pride, found right here in the Center!
We might be a little biased, but Boston Duck Tours is one of the best ways to explore the city. No two tours are alike as ConDUCKtors put their unique spin for each group! Luckily for those visiting the finish line before the race, Boston’s most popular tour has a pick-up spot here at Prudential Center!
During the 80 minute historicalish tour, drive by the city’s historic landmarks by land before plunging into the Charles River for a riverside-view of Boston. Boston Duck Tours is the only operator that can traverse both land and water, allowing for the perfect photo opp moment to capture the city’s skyline, including our beloved Prudential Tower.
Tours from Prudential Center depart seven days a week starting at 10AM and until one hour before sunset. The Boston Duck Tours ticket booth is located outside the Prudential Center on Huntington Ave adjacent to the Star Market. Tickets can also be purchased ahead of time online, which is HIGHLY recommended!
See what’s happening 750 ft above the finish line! There’s no better bird’s-eye view of the Marathon than View Boston. Ascend to the top of Prudential Tower’s 52nd floor for incredible indoor panoramic views of the city and watch runners (with a cocktail in hand) as they accomplish the final stretch of the 26.2 mile race!
During Marathon weekend, come for the views but stay for additional photo-worthy moments, including capturing a photo with the 129th Boston Marathon trophy on Saturday, April 19th from 2PM to 4PM! Runners, celebrate your achievement with an extra-personalized touch. On Monday, April 21st from 4PM to 7PM, medals will be engraved on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one medal per person can be engraved. Only the 2025 finisher medal will be engraved.
America might run on DUNKIN’, but Boston was doing it first! Now the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world, Dunkin’ began providing loyal customers with high quality coffee, bagels, donuts and other baked goods right here in the Bay State in 1950. Start your Boston-filled day with a medium iced with butter swirl pecan or cool off with a frozen and refreshing Coolatta. Can’t forget the donuts! Munchkins always hit the spot when wanting a lil’ sweet treat.
For over 25 years, Anna’s Taqueria has been serving Boston and surrounding neighborhoods its expertly assembled burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and Mexican bowls – made with fresh ingredients, and authentic recipes. Whether carbo-loading for the Marathon or looking for a group-friendly option, nothing gets more local than this home-grown, authentic Mexican restaurant.
Your vessel of choice – burrito, taco, quesadilla or salad or rice bowls – is loaded with housemade rice, choice of beans, and protein options like classic roasted chicken and steak or the extra-flavorful chicken ranchero and al pastor. Finish with toppings like pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeños, and pickled red onions.
Prudential Center is the go-to (and only!) destination for everyone’s favorite New England brewery, Tree House Brewing Co., in the city of Boston. On Marathon Weekend, Tree House’s Prudential Center pop-up bar returns for the season, where you can enjoy beverages onsite or order your favorite craft beers (including the Prudential Center-exclusive Hello Boston), seltzers, and ciders alongside additional spirited cocktails to-go.
The Tree House retail location at the Center is open Monday through Thursday beginning at 11AM, on Friday and Saturday beginning at 10AM, and Sunday starting at 12PM.
The storefront and pop-up can be found located on the retail level of the Center near Shake Shack and USPS. Brews and gear can also be found at the kiosk in Center Court in front of Blue Bottle, or order ahead and drive-through for pick-up located in the parking garage.
DICK’S House of Sport is more than a store, it’s an experience. Prior to race day, stock up on Marathon gear that shows your Boston pride or load up on race day essentials like gels & chews and hydration gear. Runners are invited to join Brooks Running and professional athletes, Jess McClain and Zach Panning, on April 18th for a shakeout run or sign up for a soft run with 1.5 ️ Run Club and Metro Movin Run Club on April 29th. On Marathon Day, swing by the Boylston Street store for medal engraving, recovery moments, and more!
