While summer might feel as though it’s coming to a close on Labor Day, there’s still plenty of time to Carpe Boston. Summer doesn’t officially end until September 22!
The start to seizing the day and enjoying the lingering beautiful weather begins right here at Prudential Center. Located in the heart of Back Bay, the Center (and we might be a little biased) is one of the best places to start any Boston-centric filled day.
Keep reading for how to take advantage of the Center’s 40+ retailers & eateries to plan your city excursion, grab a bite to eat before or after your adventures, and find all the gear needed to ensure a comfortable jaunt through Boston.
Before hitting the brick sidewalks, ascend 52 floors up to View Boston. Get the lay of the land from the 360 degree observation deck to begin curating your ultimate Boston itinerary. Finish your planning on the 50th floor with the help of a jaw-dropping 3D model of the city and utilize the interactive neighborhood discovery guide to locate attractions, restaurants and landmarks throughout the city.
View Boston is open daily from 10AM to 10PM. End your trek through the city with a drink at Stratus – Boston’s highest rooftop bar located on the 51st floor – or with lunch or dinner at The Beacon on the 50th floor. The Beacon also serves brunch on Sundays!
General Admission tickets start at $10, with dining packages beginning at $35. Check out View Boston’s website for all the different ticket and package info!
Quack! Quack! Boston Duck Tours is one of the best ways to explore the city. Lucky for us, Boston’s most popular tour has a pick-up spot here at Prudential Center!
During the 80 minute tour, drive by the city’s historic landmarks before plunging into the Charles River for breathtaking views of Boston. Boston Duck Tours is the only operator that can traverse both land and water, allowing for the perfect photo opp moment to capture the city’s skyline, featuring the iconic Prudential Tower of course 😉.
The award-winning, legendary ConDUCKtors put their unique spin for each group, so no two tour are alike. This ensures guests of all ages will all have fun learning about the city’s past and future, while laughing along the way.
Tours from Prudential Center depart 7 days a week starting at 10AM and until one hour before sunset. The Boston Duck Tours ticket booth is located outside the Prudential Center on Huntington Ave adjacent to the Star Market. Tickets can also be purchased ahead of time online, which is HIGHLY recommended as seats can fill up quickly!
Just a quick pedicab or 20 minute walk from Prudential Center, Fenway Park is a must-do when being a tourist for the day. Take advantage of $25 discounted parking (night and weekend games only) at Prudential Center during Red Sox season and then walk on over to the park. Boston Pedicabs can also be found outside both Center entrances for an even quicker way to get to Fenway!
For an extra special Fenway Park experience, be sure to book View Boston’s “On Deck” Package that includes tickets for View Boston and a voucher for a Fenway Park Tour.
Take in the last few days of the warm weather in our South Garden. Begin your day with coffee and breakfast from Blue Bottle or Dunkin’ – both conveniently located near two of the Garden’s entrances – to fuel up for your Boston adventures. For a quick lunch or wait-free dinner, order to-go from fast casual favorites like Sweetgreen, Shake Shack, Cava, and Anna’s Taqueria. End the activity-filled day on a sweet note with Ben & Jerry’s or Cold Stone Creamery.
On Thursday afternoons, sip on a craft brew from Tree House Brewing Company. The exclusive summer pop-up beer garden is open every Thursday from 3PM until sundown. Enjoy Tree House’s fan-favorite IPAs, lagers, stouts, and non-alcoholic seltzers while listening to live music.
Starting from the foundation, a good pair of shoes is a must while navigating the city by foot. HOKA is known for being one of the best shoe brands as they offer a variety of shoes in a wide range of cushioning and support, and width options.
For a comfortable on-the-go outfit, Alo Yoga is one of our favorites. Since launching in 2007, Alo has become a global leader in activewear design for both men and women to inspire mindful movement. For a more classic New England outfit to don while exploring Boston, vineyard vines is your destination for high-quality classic, yet casual clothing for men, women, and kids.
Don’t forget the sun protection! Head over to CVS Pharmacy or Sephora for your favorite sunblock of choice. Both Sunglass Hut and Ray-Ban have your eyes covered when it comes to eye protection for adults and kids alike.
